This March 15 is Global Youth Day (GYD), and the Wisconsin Conference is planning to participate state-wide! This is an initiative where we're asking local churches around the conference to make plans for their youth and young adults to participate in service projects and felt-needs evangelism in their communities--be they rural or uban. Of course, the Hispanic youth have been doing projects on GYD for years, and they will continue to do so in the Milwaukee area. However, we want to expand this initiative to youth of all backgrounds, and in all contexts, to participate. We are aiming to having projects also in Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse, Hudson, Wausau, and beyond!
Don't forget to take pictures! The goal is to be able to share, along with participating youth from around the entire world, that Wisconsin young people are involved in mission work to their local communities. Help us to realize the vision of World Church leaders to see youth across the globe working as one team together to be Jesus' hands and feet.
The vision of GYD is to recapture the reality of Adventist youth as a global movement mobilized for service, contributing to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ. There is a lot more to religious faith than simply going to church and listening to sermons. The true practice of religion involves the revelation of God’s love in living out Jesus’s gospel commission: through all manners of selfless acts that point a desperately needy world to the ultimate hope of the better world He has made possible for us. Grounded in the concluding words of Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan, “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:25-37), the purpose of Global Youth Day is for our young people to “Be the sermon.”
After seeing all the news reports, testimony videos, and worldwide activity from more than 150 million digital social media impressions on GYD, we know God has been ministering to those in need through our tireless young people committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus—literally. Seeing how His power moved through the streets of our communities last year means we can only imagine what He’ll do this year! Make big plans and share them with the world.
The 2025 theme is ACT: A Community Transformed. This is more than just a logo for Adventist Youth Ministry. It’s our response to our God’s Great Commission which says, He is
“…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NKJV). On behalf of the General Conference Youth Ministries Department, and the Wisconsin Conference we charge you to send your children, youth, and young adults (ages 4 to 35) into the churches, cities, campuses and unreached countries of the world with the Three Angels Messages.
